The Challenge

The program needed to serve two distinct audiences: landowners and foresters. For landowners: • No clear understanding of what a forester does • Tendency to skip straight to logging without professional guidance • No centralized, trusted way to find qualified foresters For foresters: • No existing system to apply for accreditation • No standardized way to collect, review, and publish their information The challenge was to build a system that educates landowners, supports decision-making, and creates a structured pipeline for forester accreditation—all while ensuring the data collected could power a functional, searchable directory.

Our Strategy

Website & Education • Built a public-facing website to explain the role of a forester and when to engage one • Structured content to guide landowners before they make management decisions • Created clear pathways from education → search → contact Searchable Directory • Developed a dynamic directory allowing users to search by location and services • Structured data to support filtering and future expansion • Designed for ease of use without requiring technical knowledge from users Application System • Created an application process for foresters to become accredited • Defined required data fields to support both accreditation review and directory functionality • Ensured submitted data could be directly used in the public-facing directory CMS & Data Structure • Built a structured content system to manage forester profiles, services, and locations • Aligned application inputs with front-end display requirements • Focused on long-term scalability and maintainability Program Support • Designed supporting materials including certificates and directory assets • Collaborated with Four W Forestry Consulting Group to align program structure, data requirements, and user experience

The Results

The program is live with a functioning website, searchable directory, and active application process. Foresters can apply and be added to the system, and landowners now have a centralized place to learn and find qualified professionals. The platform is structured to grow as more foresters are accredited and as marketing efforts expand, including planned paid campaigns.
